Cheetah, Ndutu area of Serengeti Plains, Tanzania

We found this cheetah and (probably) its litter mate, resting in the grass in early afternoon. My guide convinced me to wait nearby for over three hours until the sun was lower and the light better. It was the right decision! Cheetahs thrive in the short grass areas of the Serengeti Plains. One of their main food sources is the Thompson's Gazelle.
