Grizzly Bear, Katmai National Park, Alaska

This large bear was simply resting in a meadow while we worked other bears. While it might be considered fierce looking, it was just curious about us. We kept an eye on him nevertheless. Unlike “the Grizzly Man,” who was killed and eaten just a few miles from this spot, we never attempted to touch a bear and had protection in case one became aggressive!
