Most bears stand up on their hind legs when they want to get a better view of their surroundings. This mother with a 1.5 year old cub was across the meadow from me, but I still captured her with a 600 mm lens and a 1.4 extender. It was the only time I saw a grizzly stand up in the four days in Halo Bay.
