Jocotoco Antpita, Tapichalaca Reserve

This species was unknown to science until 1994 because it is skittish, wary, and frequents steep, forested slopes. However a few have been trained to come for worms offered by humans at this reserve, like the bird in this photo. Without this situation, it is unlike more than a handful of birders would ever see the bird.
