While “leaf peepers” flock to New England each October, nearly equal color is available in Michigan's Upper Peninsula without the crowds. Sugar maples here too present vivid reds and oranges, offset by green conifers and yellow bracken ferns. This state park, with several large water falls is a good place to start!
