Hippo with Long-tailed Cormorant, Lake Naivashu, Kenya

I was in a small boat with a guide trying to photograph herons in the early morning light, when I noticed this cormorant riding the back of a hippo. The hippo was in a group of about a dozen animals standing in water just below eye level. I instructed my guide to get up sun from the scene and he did so. I was able to make only one photograph before the hippos reacted, roaring loudly and lumbering away.
