Description
American Badgers are mostly nocturnal and usually quite skittish, so seldom seen by visitors to government properties. The refuge manager at Arapaho National Wildlife Refuge had found this one that was quite tolerant of human observers. He told us where the den of this animal was located. It required three trips to this location, but on the third, we quickly saw the badger running for its hole. But it did not disappear into the hole, rather stayed up and gave us a chance to approach and make multiple images.
