Description

The White Sands National Monument in southern New Mexico is completely surrounded by the Missile Range. The 275 square miles of gypsum sand are the main feature of the Tulorosa Basin. At first glance, one would assume that there would be no wildlife here, but in fact there are many species of reptiles and birds present at different times of the year.
