Fall Berries and Lichen, Churchill, Manitoba

In the fall at least seven species of berries ripen in the tundra around Churchill, providing needed nourishment to many birds and animals. Geese gorge on berries to fuel their flight south. Here two berry species are highlighted on top of Reindeer Lichen, providing a scene fit for a Christmas Card!
