American Alligator, South Padre Island, Texas

Alligators were once hunted to the cusp of their existence, but now have recovered to where they are abundant in Florida and common elsewhere. This one had been fed by humans regularly and actually would come when called. It is now illegal to feed the animal, but I suspect people still do.
