Yellow-necked Spurfowl – Maasai Mara National Park

A small francolin, this bird usually can be found in small coveys of six or eight birds. They have a loud, raucous call that can be heard from some distance and often perch in a conspicuous location on an open branch. When frightened, they run rapidly through the grass and disappear.
