A Himalayan Monal at the Tharpaling Monastery

Monals are one of the most sought after species in Bhutan by visiting birders. The most reliable location for spotting them is at this monastery where one of the monks feeds them table scraps daily. They are so accustomed to this that they take food right from his hand! Sadly we did not witness a feeding.
