Description
Blue-fronted Redstart at Namlang
This common flycatcher is generally found at high elevations, in summer at high as 13,000 feet, in shrubbery and open forest understory and second growth. We found him near the top of a pass in a small dead tree. Only the male has this gorgeous coloring. The female is mostly grey-dull brown with an orange wash on her belly. The birds are altitudinal migrants and do not stay at 13,000 feet in winter!
