Mule Deer, Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge.

November brings the rut to mule deer in much of their Western range. When it arrives, bucks loose wariness, fight with rivals, and chase females incessantly to successfully pass on their genes. This buck seemed oblivious to visitors to the refuge he was so intent on chasing some does. He was panting from exertion.
