Oryx, Samburu National Park

There are three races of the Oryx in East Africa. This animal was of the Beisa race, the northernmost of the three. All Oryx are well known for being able to eke out a living in the driest, harshest deserts, with very little water. The Gemsbok race lives in the great sand dunes found in Namibia where it would appear no herbivore could possibly live.
