Lioness with kitten, Maasai Mara National Park

A pride of lions had killed an eland and after consuming their fill moved off as the hyenas and vultures moved in. Somehow they forgot their only small kitten. After moving off nearly a half mile, leaving the terrified kitten up a small tree, the mother returned, retrieved her baby and carried it off in her mouth to nearby bushes to spend the day. Note the mother's full belly.
