Description
Atlantic Puffin Colony, Latrabjarg, Iceland
Most of the year puffins live far out at sea, diving deeply for their fish meals. In springtime they return to rocky cliffs and islands to breed. They do not build nests, but rather lay a single egg in a burrow or cave. Puffins have been reintroduced to a handful of islands in Maine at great cost. They are abundant in Iceland.
