Secretary Bird with small Snake, Serengeti National Park

The long-legged Secretary bird wanders around grasslands in search of almost any living prey. They eat snakes, toads, small birds and mammals. Their head plumes reminded early scientists of writing implements, hence their name. They are widespread in areas of moderate rainfall.
